FREE Genealogy Research to Subscribers

Internet Genealogy by Jeannette Holland Austin

Internet Genealogy is more popular than pornography.  Since its inception, genealogy, the No. 1 hobby of the Nation, has prevailed over the internet’s worst smudge sites.  From the beginning, genealogists rushed to create their own sites upon which to post family data. Following close behind were genealogical societies and independent groups such as usgenweb.com.  Mailing Lists for every locality and almost every surname exists at rootsweb.com.  It is easier than you think. All that one need do is type a name into any search engine.

www.georgiapioneers.com is one of the hottest sites for Georgia researchers.  Imagine being able to search private online databases as well as having a professional genealogist working for you, simply for the price of a subscription!  Every genealogist knows that it takes time and money to locate information, so some freebie personalized research is a real bargain.  This site is better for Georgia researchers than genealogy.com and ancestry.com because it contains extensive databases which those sites cannot provide, viz:  bible records, hundreds of traced genealogies, obituaries from 1740s, early school graduates, orphans, paupers, Cherokees, over 32,000 names of Confederate deaths, burials, abstracts of wills, abstracts of Revolutionary War Pensions and other information,  marriages, and millions of genealogical notes.  These resources were discovered by intensive research into areas which digital photocopiers cannot explore. Perks for non-subscribers include issues of “Georgia Genealogy & History” sent via email or to your home address as well as online bible records from various States. Do you need a quick, finger-tip reference to the county where your family resided? Try AncestorTracer.  Join one of the Mailing Lists and share information with others.

“My goal is to enable people to trace their Georgia Ancestors without leaving their homes. This website was created for the purpose of sharing 40 years’ of research notes and  Traced families, and since 1998, millions of names have been added. Finding and proving sources is essential to research   success,  I am so familiar with Georgia families, that I often surprise friends by providing additional information when they casually mention an ancestor’s name.  I take a personal interest in the families which my subscribers are researching by performing free research on those names.
