DAR Applications for Membership by Jeannette Holland Austin
An excellent source of finding additional information on your Revolutionary War Soldiers is DAR Applications. Applicants tracing themselves back to the ancestor attach documentary proofs and provide names of the ancestor's children. Also, other applicants filing under the same ancestor provide births, deaths and marriages. These applications are available at the Georgia State Archives in the reference room. Look for the DAR. books. I have found several applications which cleared up issues in my own genealogy, as well as discovered errors. So, best to try and confirm the facts. The place of birth is frequently listed for the Revolutionary ancestor, so that is a good place to start the research.
