Laurel Grove Cemetery, Savannah, Georgia. The cemetery is located on the west side of Savannah on what used to be known as Springfield Plantation. It was named after the native laurel oak trees which once grew on the site. In 1850 it was developed for use as a cemetery and contains the graves of many notables. Photographs are compliments of Lea Dowd.
