
Oscar Hyde was born 1878 in Dawsonville, Georgia. He was the son of William J. and Tabitha Hyde. Oscar removed to Chamblee, Georgia before 1907 where he served as mayor. Here Oscar is featured with his children, Marian and Marvin. Oscar's father was born 1845 in South Carolina and was a minister, married twice, the second time to Mrs. Tabitha Mabry, who is the mother of Oscar. Tabitha brought with her to the marriage her son, Seaborn Mabry. Tabitha was also the mother of Oscar's sister, Martha A. Hyde (born 1876). Oscar had a daughter, Edna, who was married to Gene Carroll, Jr. of Chamblee.

Charles Sexton, born 1819 in South Carolina and his wife, Mary A., born 1824, came from South Carolina to settle in Lithonia, DeKalb County, Georgia about 1863. Their children were: Frances P. Sexton, born 1851 in South Carolina; Nancy L. Sexton, born 1852 in South Carolina; and Viley V. Sexton, born 1863 in Lithonia, Georgia. Featured is Nancy Sexton, the grandmother of Robert Sexton of Chamblee, Georgia.
